Yoshiya Magic Space Dog BO Female Version
Here we are offering an incredibly rare, highly desirable, vintage tin toy made in Japan, 1950's by KO Yoshiya along with a reproduction box. This beautiful tin litho space dog measures approximately 7 inches long by 4 inches wide and a 4 3/4 inch tail. This is one of four similar space dogs made by Yoshiya, the others being the more common red and gray wind-ups and the fairly rare remote controlled blue. And this is the female version! This space dog has a bow on the top of her head. As you will see in the video, she moves around, has rolling eyes which are plastic beads within a plastic bubble. We recently closed this listing in order to replace one of the "eyes." It is an original Magic Space Dog eye that we took from another Space Dog. This rare toy is in overall very good cosmetic condition with some scratches due to age and use. There is a lightbulb under a red plastic cover at the base which lights up. In fact, moving the switch once, this bulb just lights up. Moving the switch to the next position, and she goes into full action. As she moves around, the flying saucer spins around, her mouth opens and closes and her ears flap. Fantastic actions. The toy is all original with the exception of one of the eyes which is an original from another Space Dog. This is a classic piece and priced accordingly. And remember our Magic Space Dog comes with a beautiful reproduction box. She runs on 2 C batteries which are not included. Truly for the die-hard vintage tin toy collector.
Also we have read a few articles on this rare toy and some say it is a bump and go toy and others say it is not. There is no mention of bump and go anywhere on the toy box, which leads me to believe it is probably not a bump and go toy. But we doubt our buyer will be playing with the valuable toy (o: If so, actions are very strong as you will see in the video.
